Baby Phat Is Coming Back To Rep The 99's & 2000's With Forever 21

In March 2019, fashion mogul Kimora Lee Simmons annouced the relaunch of her women's urbanwear company Baby Phat on International Women's Day. The legendary rhinestone encrusted cat is back! The woman-owned and ran enterprise took the hip hop community at the turn of the millennium. Rapper Lil Kim created a memorable moment while walking the runway in the designer's lingerie.

If you're not familiar with the company it began in 1999 to compliment Russell Simmons' Phat Farm Fashions LLC. Together the formerly married duo's luxurious merchandise brands flooded red carpets and urban areas reaching more than $1 billion dollars in sales. In 2004, both lines were acquired by Kellwood Co. for $140 million with Lee Simmons continuing as Creative Director and President. However, in 2010 Kimora Lee decided to stepdown from her roles to pursue outside en devours such as reality show "Life in the Fab Lane".

Almost ten years later, Lee Simmons has repurchased her fashion line.This time around Simmons is receiving additional help from her now college bound daughters, Ming Lee Simmons and Aoki Lee Simmons. With their help Baby Phat's vision will translate into the next generation's style choices.The 18 piece collection is available for purchase beginning Summer 2019 for under $30.
