Billionaire Robert F. Smith Surprises Morehouse's Class of 2019

#BlackLoveIsBeautiful I know this isn’t the romantic type of love, it’s even better! On Sunday, May 19th 2019 during the 135th commencement @RobertFrederickSmith (net worth $5 billion) made the dreams of 400 Morehouse College graduates 🎓 dreams become more of a reality. While receiving his Honorary Degree, the former chemical engineer- now Founder/CEO of Vista Equity Partners (worth an estimated $46 billion) expressed how education shaped his life for the better while attending Carson Elementary School in Denver. He continues his commencement speech with the following life changing words: "On behalf of the eight generations of my family who have been in this country, we're going to put a little fuel in your bus,.....My family is going to create a grant to eliminate your student loans...” A shocked silence overtook the crowd before cheering and cries from joy were heard. On average the #BlackMales attending #MorehouseCollege owed about $150,000 in loans. Smith is a proven generous soul. Earlier 2019, he donated 1.5 million to HBCU school and to his alma mater Cornell University the previous year dedicated to cancer research and scholarships. Mr. Smith’s encourage each student to pay it forward to future Morehouse students. #TeamSagittarius 💁🏽‍♀️ #GenerousSouls 💕 Truth is student loans are crippling Millennials! I can’t go a day without Sallie Mae, IUPUI, IU Bloomington, or Navient calling me. If I could afford living expenses and student loan payments I would probably pick up. I can afford my bills comfortably at this moment. However, if I were to factor in the $350-$400 I’m asked to pay back per month, there would be noooo way I could prosper to my full potential in the future. Society set up Millennials to think college was the answer in order to receive high earning salary, but did not provide decent paying jobs for after graduation. @RobertFrederickSmith ‘s kindness my my heart smile wider than it has in awhile. This is the chance the #BlackCommunity deserves! Thank you so much!
