An Ode: to My People

I notice the way you reach up high

Only to return with nothing in your hands

I've seen this dance time and time

So often a tear forms in my eye

Sorry, for the counter reaches the top of our chest

Not near the crown of our hip

All We want is a scoop of the dip

Instead we are stuck in busted lip blunder

For our ambitions soar higher than the length of our tibia

I am tired of this dilem-mia!

It is time for us to take a stand that does not require a stool

We should be able to reach our cabinets without looking like a fool

....Damn it's hard being short!

We are excluded from so many sports

But one day we shall rise with our noses toward the sky

For we are the ones that can search the most intricate areas

While the rest of youse knees fold like a table in the cafeteria

Power to the short people

For we face discrimination day to day

But the world needs us because we brighten up the day
